Good morning and Happy All Hands Day, Alpaca!
It was SO FUN to get together today to dream big for the year ahead! For today’s team letter, I’m attaching our All Hands deck with all of the big wins, big goals, and word of the year for our team!
To recap our goals for the year here: 2023 was all about learning who we are, and who our customer is. 2024 is about unlocking our potential. Our goals this year are:
1: Professional product
Build, launch, and sell to 200+ schools a comprehensive teacher support system that includes packs, pulse surveys, and actionable insights for school leaders. Initiatives under this goal include:
PACKS:
Build more intention and efficiency into packs.
Professionalize sourcing & ordering.
Launch the Alpaca Internship Program
PULSE:
Raise $2M to build the survey platform for scale.
BETA in the spring: Prototype & hand-make the product until it’s fully built.
Launch survey platform for 2024-25 school year and bring 200 schools on board
Explore AI models that allow us to expand the product via machine learning.
2: Repeatable revenue
Alpaca has the opportunity to capture a growing market of school district HR teams seeking better solutions for teacher retention.

Repeatable revenue is tied closely to having a strong funnel, focused on driving sales meetings. We’ll hit the numbers this year by:

Nurture leads through newsletter, resources & Email
Develop 2 partnerships that grow the funnel faster.
4: All-In Alpaca
We will grow our team with intention, ambition, and a lot of Mariah Carey. Here’s how we’ll cultivate the region’s best start-up team:
