Happy Monday, Team Alpaca!
WOW, July 31st – did that go fast or what?! Our Independent Study month is complete as of today, and it is time to gather back in the office to take on our BIGGEST month of the year – AUGUST! It’s here, y’all – can you feel it?!?!?!
Because it’s such a big month ahead, I want to give you a quick rundown of all the moving parts, what’s important in each, and how we’re going to win this month. Ready?!
In August, 2023, Alpaca is going to:
Launch the School Staff Survey, our first web-based resource and software product! This project has been a labor of love for Alexander, Nicholas, Kimberly, and myself the past few weeks and it is ALMOST ready. You’ll see it roll out this week. This is a FREE, web-based survey resource for principals. Our goal with the survey is to use it to deliver value to principals and introduce them to Alpaca’s brand. What you can do: share it on social media, and share it directly with your principal friends!
Create 3,000 Back to School packs: You heard that right! These packs are gorgeous, so fun, and absolutely filled with value for teachers. Cue up the Mariah Carey - it’s time to get on the lines and pack some supplies and delight! What you can do: bring your friends and family for packout, show up, ask how to help, and do whatever Marina says!
Host corporate teams for packouts: This is such a FUN way to show people what Alpaca is all about. What you can do: share the Calendly link online, be a great host, engage with our guests, and show them how special Alpaca is!
Attend the Iowa Conference of School Administrators for our first event of the school year! With our new focus on school leaders and an amazing set of stuff to sell (hello, Celebration Packs!). What you can do: Know any Iowa principals or districts? Tell them to come find us!
Deliver packs to 18 new schools (at least!): Delivering the back to school pack is SO much fun and so exciting. We’ll be delivering packs throughout the month! What you can do: Join a delivery crew! You’ll love seeing the impact of our work.
Sell at least 5 more schools or districts (yep!): Our goal is to sell at least 5 more schools or districts on Alpaca (any level of packs!) for the school year. We’ll work hard in Omaha this week and next, and then expand our focus to also look at Minnesota, which doesn’t start school until after Labor Day. What you can do: If you know principals or superintendents in Minnesota or Nebraska, help make introductions. I will meet with anyone!
Launch a new website: Our new website is going to be BOMB!!! I cannot wait to see this beautiful story, focused on School Leaders, come to life. What you can do: Stay out of Kimberly’s way while she gets this thing over the line with Bones Co! Share the site when it’s ready, and help build resources for principals!
Launch a new newsletter full of resources for principals: We’re taking the opportunity to become the MOST helpful resource for school leaders who want to engage and celebrate their teachers. To do that, we’re building a newsletter dedicated to celebrating educators. What you can do: listen to teachers, write teacher profiles, find resources on the internet about celebrating and supporting teachers and share them with Kimberly or Karen.
Participate in Hutchfest: As part of building our brand in the community, we’ll be participating in Hutchfest again this year, right here in our space. What you can do: publicize it! Be there! Share it!
Let’s see… what am I missing?! A bunch, I bet. Feel free to comment in Slack on other things happening this month that we need to get EXCITED about! Let’s see what kind of amazing buzz we can create around Alpaca this month – this is our main event!
