Happy Monday, Team Alpaca!
It was a great start to the month of June (the LAST month of Q2!!!). First, welcome welcome welcome to Alexander Gillie – in just a single week, we’ve made big strides on setting up better technology and systems for this company. We’re so glad to have you here, Alexander!!
Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting with all of you about your Independent Study projects. This is the body of work that we’ll take on in July, in order to create big impact for our company, as well as learning opportunities for each of you.
Y’all, I’m EXCITED about the work we are planning! If we all do what we are proposing, here is what this company will have accomplished by the end of the summer:
An internship program that brings new talent to our Operations Pit Crew while preparing new professionals for work in startup companies.
An Ideal Customer Profile for superintendents, built by 20 interviews with district team members.
A content marketing system, including all campaigns, messages, audiences, and events, built for Q3 & Q4
Back to School news coverage that features remarkable teachers supporting one another, plus, a template for created Featured Teacher profiles in the future.
96 social media posts created, scheduled, and lined up in our system, covering 8 key messages for our audiences.
A survey product to reach principals and teachers in a completely new way
v1.0 of the Alpaca App, supporting better operations and growth for the 2023-24 school year
An inventory system that accurately tracks our ordering, receiving, and shipping and creates efficiencies for our company
A complete fundraising plan, including a new fundraising deck, pro forma financials, and 5 relationships built with potential funders.
Seriously!? That’s an incredible roadmap for the summer, and I’m so excited to see it happen. Beyond the work, I believe these projects bring with them an extraordinary amount of learning and professional growth for our team, and I can’t wait to hear what you’re learning and building as we go.
Now, for the next 3 weeks, it’s time to work HARD so that we can give ourselves the space for these projects. In the next three weeks, we need to:
Secure at least 2 more district contracts and at least 150 more teachers for Back to School. We’ve got a great pipeline here – it’s time to CLOSE SOME DEALS!!!
Get our Back to School campaign built and set
Get all of Back to School pack inventory in house
Order our packaging for the full school year
Write some dang thank you notes, or get some folks across the country helping with this.
I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: Sales is everyone’s job. We need all hands on deck to achieve the growth we want to see, and the moment for it is right now. Let’s go bring Alpaca to some new districts, with awesome support and sponsorship, from companies who believe in teachers. We can do this – but it takes all of us.
